Commentaires 1

Le méta-nitrotoluène est un des trois isomères obtenus lors de la synthèse du nitrotoluène par nitration du benzène. Les autres isomères sont le para-nitrotoluène et l'ortho-nitrotoluène. Comparativement aux autres isomères, le méta-nitrotoluène est produit en faible quantité (entre 3 et 4 %).

Le méta-nitrotoluène est utilisé dans la fabrication de colorants, de produits agricoles et de caoutchouc.
