La diméthylamine se retrouve dans plusieurs secteurs d'activités. Elle est utilisée principalement dans la fabrication de :

  • caoutchouc vulcanisé en tant qu'accélérateur
  • surfactants
  • produits pharmaceutiques
  • solvants tels que le diméthylformamide (DMF) et le diméthylacétamide (DMAC)
  • pesticides
  • agents pour le traitement de l'eau.

Le tannage du cuir est un autre exemple de ses utilisations.
