Le cyclohexane est utilisé comme : 

  • solvant pour les résines, les graisses, les cires, les caoutchoucs et l'extraction d'huiles essentielles
  • décapant pour peintures et vernis
  • intermédiaire de synthèse pour la fabrication de plusieurs produits chimiques dont l' acide adipique et le caprolactame.

Le cyclohexane est aussi utilisé dans la formulation de fongicides et pour la fabrication de combustibles solides pour les réchauds de camping.
