L'acétate de vinyle contient généralement un inhibiteur de polymérisation, par exemple : l'hydroquinone (entre 3 et 17 ppm), le diphénylamine (200 à 300 ppm) ou une combinaison des deux.

Utilisation et sources d'émission 3 4

L'acétate de vinyle sert à la fabrication de plusieurs polymères tels : acétate de polyvinyle, alcool de polyvinyle, acétal de polyvinyle, copolymère d'acétate de vinyle et d'éthylène, et copolymère d'acétate de vinyle et de chlorure de polyvinyle; plusieurs de ces polymères sont utilisés dans la production d'adhésifs, résines, peintures, vernis, films et emballages alimentaires.
