La famille des amines aliphatiques est vastement employée dans la synthèse chimique en tant que produit de départ, intermédiaire ou solvant. L'éthylamine est particulièrement utilisée comme:

  • agent neutralisant dans la fabrication de pesticides;
  • stabilisant pour le latex de caoutchouc;
  • agent de réticulation pour résine synthétique;
  • solvant d'extraction, notamment dans l'industrie du raffinage pétrolier;
  • intermédiaire dans les synthèses organiques pour la fabrication de: colorants, agents tensioactifs et produits pharmaceutiques.
