La cyclohexanone intervient comme intermédiaire chimique dans la synthèse de l'acide adipique et du caprolactame utilisés pour la fabrication du nylon.

Ce produit est aussi utilisé comme monomère pour la fabrication de résine de cyclohexanone et comme solvant pour :

  • les résines synthétiques et naturelles
  • les cires
  • les graisses
  • les insecticides.
