Utilisation et sources d'émission 1 2

Ce composé est principalement utilisé en tant que solvant pour l'acétate de cellulose, certaines résines synthétiques et naturelles, ainsi que dans le processus de teinture du cuir. Il est employé en tant qu'additif dans les vernis et les émaux, jouant un rôle d'additif antigel dans les carburants d'avion et les solutions de dégivrage. De plus, il agit comme fixateur lors du scellement de la cellophane.

Il est également présent dans les cosmétiques synthétiques ou produits de consommation tels que:

  •  Parfums et fragrances;
  •  Préparations capillaires;
  •  Vernis à ongles;
  •  Lotions pour la peau.
